Welcome

We are pleased to announce the International Workshop on “Quantum Light Sources in Solid State Materials and their Applications”, which will take place in Oviedo, Spain, on February 9–10, 2026, at the Historic Building of the University of Oviedo.

This workshop aims to bring together researchers working on the generation, control, and application of quantum light in solid-state platforms, with a special focus on two-dimensional materials, semiconducting nanostructures, and hybrid photonic systems. This workshop emerges as a joint initiative connecting two Quantera consortia, EQUAISE and COMPHORT, aiming to foster collaboration and discussion across our research lines.

Topics will include, but are not limited to:

  • Quantum emitters in 2D materials and solid-state systems
  • Nanophotonics and cavity quantum electrodynamics
  • Theoretical modeling and simulation of quantum light sources
  • Fabrication and characterization techniques
  • Integration into communication, metrology and quantum information applications

The meeting will feature invited talks by leading experts in the field as well as contributed presentations from students and early-career researchers, fostering interaction and collaboration across different areas of quantum photonics, materials and applications.

We look forward to welcoming you to Oviedo for two days of stimulating discussions and scientific exchange in the inspiring setting of the University’s historic building.
